It’s about 2 hours from Charlotte but Wild Turkey in Greensboro, NC is extremely fun.

Wild turkey is 4.5 miles each way I believe. There’s also Owl’s Roost, the Big Loop, and the Small Loop in the same area

Looks like Trek7K has got you hooked up with the local trail knowledge. I second Matt86 on Wild Turkey. ReserveRockHopper and his buds have put together some top notch trails in that area. Pretty easy to put together a 20 mile or so ride from Bur-Mil Park. Definitely worth a day trip from Charlotte if you are there for a while.

Lot of swoops and dips. Built by mountain bikers.

Thanks for the kind words on Wild Turkey. In the Charlotte area I like the White Water training center trails. You can also go to http://www.charlottetrailblazers.com or is it http://www.trailblazers.com can’t remember.

Not to far from Charlotte is Dupont state forest. Rode it for the first time a few weeks ago and can’t wait to go back. So far, my favorite place to ride around here (I’m in Greenville, SC) Another place to look into, and I hear good things about is Tsali. That’s on the list for later this year, or early next year.
