Getting Back at It!

Some of you may know me and some of you may remember me. Well, I’m getting back at it. I haven’t ridden in about 3 years due to some complications with a brain tumor. I’m a little nervous. I am going to start on the pavement and work my way up to some  singletrack. My balance has improved much over the last year as I’ve gotten used to only having one working ear. I figured, if I’m good enough to ride the motorcycle again, it is time to get back on the 29er. Wish me luck! I hope to be posting more pictures and maps to the site by spring!

Welcome back! That’s a bummer you had to take so much time off, but it sounds like you’re ready to get back on the horse. Best of luck, and keep us posted!

Wow, I can’t imagine what your life has been like the past few years.  But way to go for not letting the tumor/ear get the best of you.  A you know better than me our bodies have have an amazing ability to overcome injuries and limitations.  I can’t wait to hear how you move forward … … besides carefully of course. =)

Glad that you are good now. Nobody has perfect health and glad that you overcame your brain tumor. Must have been very scary. Welcome back!

Thank you all for the well wishes. I picked up my bike from the shop on Friday. I just wanted a tune up, but the owner did a complete check and even washed her for me. Then he only charged me $25.00. I asked him why, and he said he just wants to get me back out there as soon as possible. Such a great community!

Welcome Back! That back in the saddle nervousness will fade quickly, I’m sure.  Humans sometimes come back with a vengeance.  It took me a few rides to get past the fear of “breaking something open” after a totally unexpected double bypass (got back on the bike within 2 weeks).  As it turns out, I now ride more, longer, and harder than ever (5 days times a week)!

Congratulations on getting your health back.  Exciting times in sure for you getting back out there!  Good luck and best wishes.
