      Hi all
myself and my friend are travelling from Ireland to Colorado at the end of May for two weeks of mtn biking. we’ll mainly be based in Denver but have places to stay in Boulder and Colorado Springs. Unfortunately I’ve just realised that we’re a few weeks early for most of the bike parks which means we’ll have to find lots of single track. We’re pretty experience mtn bikers so not looking for easy tracks/fireroads and beautiful scenery
      All suggestions appreciated

So to be clear, you are NOT looking for beautiful scenery? 😮

These are all the trails in the vicinity of Denver/Boulder:

      http://www.singletracks.com/php/zipcode … &radius=50

They are rated with the same icons as ski trails: green, intermediate and black diamond (or double black)

You can do a similar search here for Colorado Springs where there are also a bunch of excellent trails.

Valmont Bike Park is open and is definitely worth checking out. http://bouldermountainbike.org/og/valmont-bike-park

One of the better rides in the Boulder area is Hall Ranch in Lyons, about 15 minutes outside of Boulder.

Check out Oskar Blues brewery in Lyons when you’re done with your ride.

      Enjoy!

Some great technical trails in Denver:
      Deer creek canyon
      kenosha pass
      3 sisters

      Colorado springs:
      Jones downhill/ the chutes
      Cheyenne mtn state park
      Palmer park

      Boulder:
      Heil valley ranch

Other than those the trails are mostly blues and moderately easy if your an experienced biker.

So far, we’ve just scratched the surface.

Other great Denver and mountains-near-denver rides with strong technical content:
      Dakota Ridge
      Bergen Peak
      Sourdough/South St Vrain/Buchanan Pass

Other great Colorado Springs rides with strong technical content:
      Pipeline trail to Seven Bridges
      Ute Valley Park
      Stoopid Trail (Monument)

thanks guys for all those suggestions, keep them coming. any trails higher up in the rockie we should head for? We’re staying with my family in Denver and have some other family in Colorado Springs so there are loads of suggestions there for us.

only 2 and a half weeks to go, I can’t wait!

      Cheers

So basically, just go here: http://www.singletracks.com/mountain-bike/trails.php and ride everything in the area you’ll be staying.

Maybe if I include another link, it will further increase the odds that the trail database is referenced: http://www.singletracks.com/mountain-bike/trails.php

The Winter Park area has some good riding although a lot of trails are not found on this website. If you go to http://www.playwinterpark.com/mbcusa-index.html they have maps and a list of some of the trails in the area. We are even snow free already this year! Have fun!

grandlakejames, grab your GPS or smartphone and map those. Submit three trails, and their corresponding GPS data, and it gets you a free lifetime membership to Singletracks.

I’ve been meaning to come up there and explore in the summer, I should do it this year.

      +1 to that!

Wow, I didn’t know about the lifetime membership deal, that is great. I will work on mapping some of those trails this summer.
