Spring weather conditions following a low snowfall season has resulted in rapidly drying trails throughout Colorado’s Crested Butte Mountain Resort. The action sports enthusiasts are eager to make up for the lackluster winter with an activity-packed summer season! Fortunately, the weather has cooperated enough to satisfy these desires and will allow CBMR to begin summer operations early on June 9th and 10th! During this sneak preview weekend there will be hiking, mountain biking in the Evolution Bike Park and the Red Lady Express will open for scenic rides. Visitors will also be invited to play a few rounds of miniature golf and try out the resort’s zipline tours. The resort will officially open for summer on Saturday, June 16th with full operations continuing through Labor Day weekend.
Further additions to the resort’s facilities include new bike trails in the Evolution Bike Park. The new intermediate downhill trail, which is planned to open in July, will be known as Frequency. It will feature intermediate berms and small jump features to give guests a progressive introduction to more advanced downhill mountain biking terrain. The second trail has yet to be named and is hoping to be done later in the summer. It will run through the Gold Link area in tight wooded areas and also contain some excavated dirt sections for the more advanced rider. Terrain in the Evolution Bike Park has grown leaps and bounds over the years. Currently there are over 25 miles of trails throughout the resort, allowing riders of every ability opportunities to improve their skills and take their mountain biking to the next level.
