Been excited to ride, since its been on and off here in denver due to snow today and sunny tomorrow kind of weather.
On the way home, sped thru a downhill obstacle, one dumb move and I was airborn. Cant remember exactly what part of my body landed, but I vaguely remember sitting on my ass, worrying about my bike 😃 … totally forgot how I got back to the car, and home. And thats probably about 20 minutes. Good thing is I have a buddy with me. He said I kept asking him what day is it almost 30 times.
It will be a week this saturday, still have that foggy feeling and lingering minor headache. I didnt throw up, so thats a good thing. The doc said Im past the critical stage. So far no broken bones, Just road rash at the back shoulder and bruised ego.
So keep wearing those helmets guys… it will keep your noggin safe. Ride safe and with a buddy! -

Glad nothing serious happend to you. Something simular happend to me last year too. My frontwheel sliped after a steep step, I crashed and my head hit the ground. Mild concussion and a bruised shoulder. Contrary to you, I was by myself and had like 6 miles left to my car. I was more than happy, when I was at home. My helmet went into the bin right away, because it was damaged.

Man, not to remember what day is… It was REALY close call. Glad you’re alright and no broken bones. It reminds to all of us how dangerous MTB could be.

Glad you’ll be OK. I’ve knocked my helmet a couple of times without getting concussed. Riding a couple miles of trail and like 8 of street with broken ribs sucks but I get to remember most of it. 😀

Broken ribs is not a lethal injury, yet to ride over 8 miles after it happened is very brave move. Or you just had no choice?

Took a spill Sunday on an easy trail that I’ve ridden hundreds of times (half of them on my road bike). Broke my fall with my face, and put a big dent in my helmet (broke my glasses, too).

I’ve had stuff like that happen. You ride a trail so many times, you can get a bit careless! The inevitable crash is always a good reminder to pay attention!
