I installed new avid bb7 disk brakes on my bike last night. I rode the bike after the install to break in the pads. During the process the brakes started to squeal loudly. It was loud enough that I thought it may wake up my neighbors(it was~2:00am) so I decided to wait until the next day to break in the brakes.
How much riding does it take before the pads are fully broken in and stop squealing?
I know high performance pads for race cars squeal just like this due to the compound used. Should I look into different pad compounds?
