The area includes a pump track, rock gardens, rock drops, skinny logs and rocks made with old granite curb stones. The course is supposed to be an introduction to mountain biking and allow new riders a chance to improve their skills away from the challenges of the real James River Park System trails, which are held in high regard nationally and a major reason why Richmond gets great outdoor events like Dominion Riverrock and the XTERRA Championships.

Having just been in Richmond a week ago and having gotten to sample the skills park on Belle Isle, I can personally vouch for how awesome this place is! It will be a great resource for the locals, and is definitely worth a trip from well outside the city when you consider all of the other great trails in the area.
