I have a http://www.pricepoint.com/Brand/Race-Fa … k-2013.axd on my Cobia. I wanted to know if i could put a bashguard on it since it is a 1X. Also i’ve had the chain come off a few times while riding. What is the best option for a guide something like this..http://www.pricepoint.com/Brand/MRP/MRP-1X-Guide.axd ? Thanks.

Hi, Kyle! Sure, you can put a bashguard on. May need a longer bolts though. Had no experience with chainguides, maybe somebody else could help here

Do you have one of the newer clutch derailluers? They’re supposed to help on the 1x setups, and sound like an all around good idea to keep the chain from bouncing. XT derailluer

I run a 1×10 drivetrain with a RaceFace Narrow Wide up front and a XT Shadow plus rear mech. If you want to keep weight down and keep your chain from dropping a mech with a clutch is a must. I recommend it since adding a chain stay or bash guard not only adds weight but it adds another component to maintain and possibly fail…..just my .2 cents, maybe only worth a penny.
