I am the Event Organiser for the British HEart Foundation in Wales. On October 1st 2006, we are holding a challenge event in the Afan Forest Park in Neath, South Wales.

It consists of a six stage team challenge through Afan Forest Park, South Wales. The day will start at 8:00am at Margam Country Park and over the next 8 hours your team will jog or run alongside (and in!) the Afan river, mountain bike one of the worldís best bike trails, face mental agility challenges, complete an assault course and cross a lake.

      The Stages:
Stage 1 5km run through Margam Country Park
      Stage 2 18.3km cycle to Afan Argoed (630m ascent & 731m descent)
Stage 3 Team agility test at Afan Argoed Visitor Centre
Stage 4 8km run from Afan Argoed Visitor Centre to Pontrhydyfen and returning crossing the river Afan 3 times
Stage 5 18.9km cycle to Gnoll Country Park (681m ascent & 523m descent)
Stage 6 Team challenge to inflate a dingy and cross the pond to the finishing line.

      Teams:
ï You can either compete as a team of between 4-6 members with a minimum of 4 members of each team taking part in each stage and so if running is not your strong point but biking is then you can take a break.
ï Alternatively you can compete as a double act with both of you completing all stages.

      Entry Fee:
The entry fee is £50 per person. Teams of between 4-6 members must raise a minimum sponsorship of £1000 per team and teams of 2 must raise a minimum of £500. Entry fee is deducted from sponsorship total. Entry fees go towards the cost of administering and organising this complex event. Itís only through your sponsorship efforts that the BHF benefits.
