      A week ago me and some NC buds hit up a local favorite, Spec Mines and Dody Ridge figure 8 double loop. Starts with about a 2.5 mile climb.

      I guess that is why they call it Black Horse Gap, an encounter with about 15 horses and riders went well.

      Where is the trailhead and how long of a ride is it? Trying to get a feel for logistics…

      Day Creek Horse trail parking lot. It is just west of Montvale and right off of Camp Jaycee road.
