For the 2013 season, FOX has made several important developments to our fork and shock lineup, and will offer a few new products:

[list:cvuq7bqr]New Climb Trail Descend (CTD) integrated ride dynamics system that makes it easy to set up forks and shocks to work together for unprecedented performance on all types of terrain
      Lighter 32 100 mm chassis for 26” and 29”
      34 160 mm platform for 26” and 27.5”
Three-position DOSS Seatpost with easy-to-find Trail position (40 mm drop)
Suspension Setup App for Android and iPhones that makes suspension setup simple for everyone[/list:u:cvuq7bqr]

      FOX CTD System

In the past, we at FOX have designed forks and shocks individually and created tuning features based on their specific applications. However, as we began to look at the complete ride dynamics of a mountain bike, we realized that we needed to view the front and rear suspension as a system, rather than individual components, to offer the best performance and control. For 2013, we have taken this system approach and designed our trail forks and shocks together.

We also wanted to simplify the tuning features while offering better performance, so we made the adjustments more intuitive and use the same features in forks and shocks. With this in mind, we set out to create an integrated ride dynamics system that makes it easy to set up forks and shocks to work together for unprecedented performance on all types of terrain.

As we worked on our new suspension system, we were also developing a remote-activated adjustable ride height seatpost and found that it perfectly integrated into our ride dynamics system.

This system is called CTD. CTD stands for Climb, Trail and Descend.

When in the Climb mode, it activates the firmest low-speed compression setting on the fork and shock for maximum pedaling efficiency. On the post, the Climb position is when it is fully extended for maximum climbing power.

The Trail mode is the middle suspension setting and provides a moderate low-speed compression tune for an optimum blend of pedaling efficiency and bike control on varying terrain. The Trail mode is also the middle position on the post, which provides 40mm of drop for clearance, a lower center of gravity and better control over trail obstacles. CTD Trail Adjust forks and shocks offer further fine tuning of the Trail feature with three levels of low-speed compression tune.

The Descend mode is designed for steep, aggressive descents and offers the plushest damping setting. The Descend mode is also the lowest position on the post for the maximum clearance.

The CTD suspension system also has the option to use a single remote or dual remote activation lever to adjust between the Climb, Trail and Descend modes. The single remote lever can activate a fork or a shock and the dual remote design activates the fork and shock simultaneously.

To recap, CTD is our new ride dynamics system. It’s intuitive with the Climb, Trail and Descend modes and easy to use with three lever positions. It provides common terminology and features between the fork, shock and post, and the suspension modes are tuned to work together.

      FOX Suspension Setup App

The most important part of a mountain bike is the suspension yet many riders aren’t riding a properly tuned setup. Wanting to help riders achieve a quality ride without requiring much, or any, suspension knowledge, we have developed the free FOX Suspension Setup App. The app takes riders through the steps needed to tune sag and rebound on their fork and shock. The app takes into account the rider’s weight and uses an I.D. Code on the fork and shock to identify the suspension components. The suspension overlay feature allows riders to use the camera feature on their smartphones to check the amount of sag and make recommendations. The free app is easy to use, requires minimal suspension knowledge and will provide an excellent starting point to allow riders to get the most out of their suspension.

      FOX D.O.S.S. Seatpost

The all-new D.O.S.S. seatpost complements our CTD ride dynamics system with on-the-fly seat height adjustability, so you’re perfectly positioned to tackle any type of terrain.

      CTD Three-Position Integration

Gain complete ride control at your fingertips with the lever-actuated, three-position D.O.S.S. seatpost. It synchronizes with our front and rear suspension settings ? Climb, Trail and Descend – for instant performance optimization based on terrain.

      Minimal Lateral or Rotational Play

The dual internal cam design allows the post to move smoothly into each travel mode with minimal lateral or rotational play.

      Easy-To-Find Middle Position

Dual levers and the internal positioning system make it easy and automatic to locate the middle Trail position every time.
