This bike caught my eye when browsing. Having a Rock Shox SID Race fork and Avid Elixer CR brakes, Kenda Climax Lite tires, etc. for $1500 it made me curious. What’s the deal with Motobecane’s frames? Are they POS’s or just a great value for the price?

Motobecane makes a good frame. They’re known for their road bike frames and the teams they have racing on them. Can’t speak for the full suspension designs but their hard tail frames are nice and bikesdirect.com can usually outfit bikes with decent components for a lower price than most stores. I have ridden a FLY that was the 2008 model that was very nice and super light. Not sure of their return policy but I do know FLY frame is pretty nice.

It is a amazingly speced bike for the money. Never ridden one but I do have a road bike from them, and it is working out so far. I would also take a look at this one http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/mot … ti_09x.htm. The titanium will last forever. Your not getting as good as parts, but the frame is better.
