I have been searching craigslist for weeks now for a good deal on a bike that wont break the bank. I came across a wide variety of bikes. I will be doing light trails, maybe even some more difficult trails with experience. I found a guy selling a 2006 kona kula primo for $200 and a guy selling a specialized hardrock sport 29er for $300? My question is what bike would be the best choice? Is it worth buying an older 2006 bike or a newer more basic bike?
Both bikes are in very good shape
Thanks!

The Kona has better components(if they haven’t been changed out) but those extra 7 years could have been very hard years. If it were me and I was riding light/moderate trails, I’d buy the Specialized wagon wheeler and upgrade the fork when I found a good deal on one.

Ok that’s kind of what I was thinking. The guy did say he put new brakes, derailleur on the Kona Kula. The hardrock is practically brand new. He bought last August and never rode.
Thanks
