I have had very good luck with two sets of tires:
1. WTB Velociraptors
2. Panaracer Fire XC Pro
Both tires work exceptionally well in all conditions, but the Velociraptors have much better traction in the mud, while the Panaracers have less rolling resistance. I would recommend both tires for this area of riding. I hope this helps.
