I have the eggbeaters and the spring which runs the lockin/release system snapped in the middle of a ride after about 4 months. They are not made for rough terain. I will say though that Crank Bros were great and not only fixed the pedal for free, but gave a little maintenance to other one as well. While I waited for the week or so to get them back I purchased the Candy’s and love those. The small platform gives a little support if I have to unclip and it seems to protect the pedal as well.
