i have an older Klein (pulse pro 1998) and i never got Chain suck until i replaced the old crank, mine was a Sugino Might 700(i think) with a cheap (it was an emergency) SR suntour that i picked up for ten bucks(it was a take off) from a LBS.. i bet the tooth count is different, also the LBS told me the BB i am using is to short for the lower end Crank that i put on it. I want to order a whole new Bottom bracket and crank/rings but my bike is 8 speed and most of the 8 speed cranks i see are super low end, I am 200 pounds and somewhat aggressive, i am afraid i will break them. To go all the way to 9 or 10 speed would cost enough to have me looking at buying a new bike instead.
also i had a anti-suck thing on the bottom of my Bottom Bracket that i took off long before i switched the cranks.
