My home trail since 1998 has been Weir Canyon Loop. Until early this year, it was a trail that I could easily access from my front door. However, a destructive fire in October 2017 lead to the county establishing some new fence lines this spring, which ultimately eliminated my easy access. Now I have to drive to an entry point, which takes about 5 minutes. The now-closed access point meant a mile in and a mile out, with about 400 feet of climbing. It was always exhilarating to start with the initial climb, gaining a little over 300 feet in 2/3 mile. I can still ride right up to the edge, which is now part of another ride that I do, connecting various segments of trail and roadways here in Anaheim Hills.
