I think your cassette and chain both are too old, and rusted away. So your chain slips regularly. You need to replace your chain and cassette at a time.

-Chain and cassette were purchased at same time two months ago, so that wouldn’t be the case. It wasn’t so much a slip as a jumping of gears, poor description on my part. So it was more of an alignment issue. Thanks for your response
