As a self diagnosed alcoholic, i found mtb’ing to be my replacement (actually all cycling). People have vices, no matter what the activity. So the answer to your question is NO! The difference as i see it is some ride to drink, some drink to ride. I see more drunks on fixies at the alleycats than I do on the trails.
