But the most interesting thing I’ve seen was a turtle laying eggs in the middle of the trail at L H Thomson in middle Georgia. I was rounding a turn and getting ready to gun it up a hill when I saw something in the middle of the trail. It turned out to be a large, dinner plate size, turtle that had dug a nest with it’s back feet and was getting ready to lay it’s eggs. Not wanting to interfere, I walked wide around the turtle and proceeded down the trail. On the next loop, the turtle had covered the nest and was starting to head off the trail. Hopefully, the young turtles will be able to get out of the nest and off the trial before someone runs over them.
