Floyd Landis competing at Teva Mountain Games

This is probably old news by now but it looks like Floyd Landis will be riding his mountain bike at the Teva Mountain Games in Vail June 2-3. Landis will be competing on the Team Athletes for a Cure in the Ultimate Mountain Challenge multi-sport team race to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

Equestrians gone wild

For once mountain bikers are on the other side of the trail access debate. Apparently mountain bikers are fed up with equestrians illegally using the trails at two parks in the Lubbock, TX area and a recent letter to the editor shows mountain bikers aren’t afraid to speak out. As you may recall, a crazy …

Responsible New England riders & Marin whiners

I had hoped to get off the trail access topic for today’s post but it seems like it’s the only mountain bike news getting any press lately. The New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA) requested for the second year in a row that local bike trails in Exeter, NH be temporarily closed to mountain bikers …

I have some good news and bad news to report regarding mountain bike trails – which do you want first? Bad news? Okay, let’s get it out of the way. It wasn’t me

The FBI is on the lookout for what I’m dubbing the “Mountain Bike Bank Robber.” Apparently this guy has robbed banks in Ohio, North Carolina, and Kentucky and in each case – he’s made his getaway on a mountain bike. The guy has been spotted on a silver or gray mountain bike in 3 out …

Alaska mountain bike trails are not in Tennessee

Tim Woody knows his mountain bike trails. The Anchorage resident was flipping through the latest issue of Outside magazine when he happened upon an ad for the state of Tennessee: “Knees scraped. Nose sunburned. Heel blistered. Burdens released.” The ad shows an interesting handlebar view of a beautiful mountain trail – the only problem is, …
