A month ago, we invited you to join us in taking the 30 days of biking challenge. In case you missed it, this is a challenge to ride your bike, no matter the type or distance, every day during the month of April. If you haven’t signed up yet, sign the pledge here and help a kid get a free bike (1 bike will be donated for every 30 pledges).

Now, once you’ve signed up, the fun begins! Put foot to pedal tomorrow, and don’t quit until April has come to a close.

To help keep you motivated, we’ve rolled out a couple of fun features here on Singletracks. First, be sure to jump in and participate in our #30daysofbiking forum thread here. This is a great place to share your struggles and triumphs as you seek to ride every day for 30 days straight.

Next, be sure to come out to one of our Singletracks group rides! Here are the options that we’re coordinating this month:

If you want to coordinate a group ride yourself, try adding it to our event calendar!

Finally, we’ve rolled out a simple leader board that’s connected with our ride log and, via our new Tracker integration, with Strava. This leader board will track who’s actually ridden each of the 30 days and who hasn’t. And, as an added bonus, it will tally up your total mileage and riding time for the month, so we can see who, out of all Singletracks users, has ridden the most during April!

Note: these values are for March. Values will reset tomorrow morning for the beginning of the new challenge!

Don’t have Strava? Don’t worry! You can log your rides manually via the ride log in your personal dashboard so that you’ll show up in the leader board.

Note: cheating is lame. You’re not going to win anything by doing this challenge, aside from the satisfaction that you completed it. And if you record false stats… well, you should check out this website as well. No one can spend 86,726 hours riding in 19 days… that’s almost 10 straight years of riding crammed into less than a month! 🙂

The bottom line is this: ride your bike, have fun, and don’t take yourself too seriously! We’ll see you here on the blog and on the forums as we strive to tackle the 30 days of biking challenge together!

    With my work schedule and the stuff I already have planned, I can’t pull this off but I’m ALL IN next year.

    Oh man, I only use Strava for my mountain biking. I use mapmyride for riding at the bikepark, probably because I can’t bring myself to attach a GPS computer to my DJ bike 😆

    Oh well, I’ll still be riding every day! Four days straight so far, three at the bikepark and today was just around the neighborhood with the family.

      Just use Strava on your phone

      You clearly overestimate my technical abilities. I’m lucky I got the singletracks app on the phone! 😆

      I like using the Garmin that I have. For one, I’m much better at remembering the charge it before a ride and I can track my heartrate on it. I’m assuming the strava app can pair with it, but once again, my technical abilities (or lack thereof) come into play.

      Or, you can log your bike park rides manually using the ride log in your Singletracks dashboard.

      Sweet, I’ll have to look into that.

      Day one ride is complete. The family and I rode a whopping six blocks. They got cold so we ended the ride a bit early.

      Hopefully the trails will be dried out tomorrow so I can go for a proper ride!
