What derailleur? What shifter? Just sounds like it is a tad out of adjustment. If it’s skipping the middle gears, try loosening the tension with the barrel adjuster 1/2 turn and try again.
When in doubt, there are 4 million+ youtube videos that can help you tune a derailleur.
I had the same issue. Bought a bike out of town and didn’t realize my hanging rack wouldn’t work. I had just bought the rack so I didn’t want it to go to waste so I bought a cross bar adapter (attaches the seat tube to the handlebar stem). Allows new geometry to be able to be hung on hanging racks. Just got to look out for clearance issues, mine is on a lifted jeep so I don’t have that issue, but if I ride with my girlfriend, I have to take off my wheels if I don’t want them to be vulnerable to hitting the pavement on bumps or something. I’m using the “Saris Bike Beam” and it’s $42 on Amazon.
I will be getting a 1up tray style when the funds allow it, but I’ve been using a cross bar for a few years now with no issues.
Get that nail away from your stanchion.. Take off the lowers and investigate for damage. Take out the air spring and see what’s happening. Get yourself a full rebuild kit and clean/service the whole thing.
Or based on this thread, bring it to a local bike shop and have it professionally serviced.
FYI this was posted back in 2012. BetterRide is not coming to Georgia next spring. Closest is in Asheville, NC (May 29-31)
I like the Giro DND’s a lot. Also have a pair of 100%’s that feel great. Although I’ve never had an issue with my Fox Rangers digging into my fingers, maybe you got a bad batch?

One of Florida’s only really rocky sections (used to be a rock quarry back in the day). Then of course high tail it over to vortex area if you like freeride and obstacles.
Favorite upgrade I’ve added to my bike. I use it constantly to get loosely goosey on the trail.
Shouldn’t be an issue.
Diamondback Release 2 ($2,499) or if you got a little room in your budget, the Release 3 ($3,300).
I’ve been riding the crap out of my 2017 Release 1 and been loving every second. Great bike for the price.
