Thanks for the responses so far.
We’ve had the obvious-Whistler, Vancouver, CO-and I’m looking into that
And some unexpected-Sun Valley, MT, MI, that I will have to look into it.
Keep it coming. I’m curious if anyone will weigh in on Bend or Park City.
Trailrider,
I assume you mean it was 70 degrees on the trails coming off the La Sals? If so, is there now a week’s worth of riding in the higher elevations? It’s been 10 or 12 years since I rode up there.I spent 10 years in Utah, and 100s of days in Moab, and the only 70 degree days I ever found in August were way up in the mountains or before 9AM.
Not my pic, but this is on one of my favorite local trails:

How much of a base are you sitting on ? 😕[/quote:uk0g38wm]
All of 6". 😳

My pet peeve is when a moose decides not to yield the right of way to me.

That’s my guess. Can you tell us what kind of rim it is? Who built it?

I don’t want to take you away from this site, because it seems to have a great community of people, but since you’re from CT, you should probably look at Crankfire.com, which has great info and maps for riding in CT.
Wow.
I’m reading these posts and can’t believe that these conflicts are still going on.
In 20 years of riding trails, I’ve lived in 2 places where people seem to just get along on the trail–Salt Lake and Northern VT. In both locations, common courtesy rule the day. It’s really not that big a deal to stop the bike and let a hiker/runner/equestrian go by. Say hello and how are you while you’re at it. You never know where you going to run into that person again, and you might want them on your side.
With the wet June we’ve had in VT, Id have to say mud and puddles!
