The new yeti 7 frame is also going to way seven pounds, which probably means the bike will weigh around 28-29 pounds with an extra inch of travel then the possum.
The 575 is 5.75 inches and it is about 26-27 pounds. The AS-R C will easily be 23-24 pounds fully equiped.
I love both the new 575 and the new AS-R Carbon (and the sl version too). They are offering an aluminum rear triangle for the 575. And, yeah they did take Santa Cruz’s design for the front of the 575 but who isn’t right now. Just look at the Enduro and new Stumpjumper. Anyway, I found on MTBR that the new AS-R Carbon frame weighs just under 4 pounds. That is amazingly light for a full suspension bike. I can’t wait to see these bikes in person. 😃 😃 😃 😃 😃 😃 😃
Headed out to rock jam? I want to go but probably won’t.
You can also put grass in the tire, just make sure you stuff alot in, enough that the tire doesnt press down that much or at all. If there is not enough grass in your tire it will ruin your rims.
Thanks for all the feed back, and if you haven’t posted yet share your favorite trail.
The article was in bike (MBA’s was telluride). I would go to Gallup, it sounded like there was alot of great trails there and it isn’t far from, Durango, Telluride, Moab and Fruita so you could make a trip to one of those also. Hope you have a good time and the trails are good whereever you go.
I looked all around the Boulder County Open Space website and I could not find anything about Walker Ranch being closed totaly or even just to mountain bikers. You might want to call Boulder County but I think you are safe.
I just thought I should add this. We are all high intermediate to expert riders and enjoy climbs and long rides. Although we don’t mnd riding anything easy or hard, long or short. We just want to ride!! 😃 😃 😃
I like the new design and the black is nice around the emblem. The only thing I don’t really like is the red toe but that is inside of the shoe, so it really doesn’t matter. 😀
[quote:t18nslsp][quote:t18nslsp]Is there really any need for full suspension bike?Hell, why do you need any suspension on the bike when you have two arms and two legs?
Rigid and SS is the only way to ride.[/quote:t18nslsp]
Hell, for that matter why do we need a rigid SS, a GPS let alone 3, Disc Brakes, or a Singletracks web site?
BECAUSE WE C A N 😬
Long live the dual suspension bike….unless they invent a triple squish…cause you know I’ll be on it 😉[/quote:t18nslsp]
I can’t remember the name of the company or the name of the bike but back in one of the recent MBA’s (either from November 2006 to April 2007) there was an article about a tripple suppension bike. It had a normal dual crown fork in front and two shocks in the rear for a combined 15 inches of travel in the rear of the bike. It looks cool, but you would never see me on it, way too much travel.
I was try to wear my helmet, sometimes I forget when I am just riding to school or a friends house, but I never ride on a trail without my helmet.
My favorite trail that I ride on the front range has to be Indian Creek. There are some good climbs and the downhill parts are fun and have a lot of flow.
My favorite ride in the mountains is Vail Mountain, because it is a god climb to the top, and there are some really fun downhills there.
My favorite ride in Moab is either Slickrock or Porcipine. The views alone are enough to make them a great trail, add in the terain on either one, and their amazing.
My favorite place to ride has to be the 18 road area in Fruita. All the trails there are great and have amzing flow. My favorites there so far, have to be Chutes and Ladders and Joe’s Ridge. I haven’t done Zippity yet though, probably going to do that sometime this summer when I go to visit my Uncle, Aunt and cousins. 😃 😃 😃
Hopefully it clears up enough tomorrow that I can at least get a road ride in. I don’t know though, because it is snowing now. 😢
I am, exspecially since the ski resorts are closing now. This rain/snow really sucks, mainly for me because I want to get in some last minute training for my trip to Moab but the rain makes it a little tough.
My favorite trail in Highlands ranch is a 25 mile loop that includes a climb up to a highschool and singletrack on its hill then to a bike park by a rec center. It has a few good climbs and fast flowing singletrack.
My favorite ride in the Front range has to be Indian Creek, there are sime good climbs and some really fun downhills. 😃
I was riding on an in-town local trail with Raleighman91 and another friend. When we went down the first time my other freind forgot where a ditch was and endoed into it. His bike went through $200 of damage. A few runs latter Raleighman and I decieded to do a drop in off the side. He went first, but couldn’t make the first turn three times in a row. I thought that was odd, because he is a better downhill rider than I am. But, I go anyway. I nail the first turn and then the first drop, but I forgot to pull my handle bar up for the second, larger drop. My wheel stuck in the ground, and I flew over the handle bars and skidded about ten feet on my left knee. What made it worse was that there were two riders on the other side watching the whole thing. 😳
Yeah, the carbon swingarm is the only thing I don’t totally love about the ASR SLC. But, it is lighter than an alluminum swingarm and I haven’t found any complaints of it breaking. So, that is good. Thanks for doing what you do, and maybe we can ride sometime when you get back. 😃
There is also that fact that carbon can crack easily.
Hey Trek7k, what you could do so every one knows that the forums are now fixed, I only found out because I recently tried the forums again, is to announce it on the blog or post it on the home page, or both. I think that would help to increase the amount of new users using the forums.
P.S. thanks for building a great site. 😃
