Yeah, you know. Those Fortes have not given me any problems at all and they don’t need to be replaced.

Its just one of those things where I can’t leave well enough alone and saw something shiny 😀.

The Fortes are great pedals for the price and they will go back on my spare bike.

Just had a set of Spank Spike pedals delivered today. I can’t speak to how I like them yet since they just got here, but first impressions are that I like the low profile and light weight

I was hoping they were going to be larger than my Forte pedals, but they are the same size (which isn’t necessarily bad, both pledals are large).

Here is a pic without the pins installed yet.

I will update after I have ridden on them a bit.

Yeah, that is probably the cure. I contacted Platypus, but they don’t sell their packs without the bladder.

My observations after two uses are:

    PROS
    1. Seems to keep my water colder for longer periods which is why I bought it.
    2. Water does seem to taste better than the water from my other bladders.
    3. Easier to clean because of the opening on the end.
    4. Quick disconnect hose is nice. Makes it easier to handle and fill the bladder, although the hose is a little long.

    CONS
    1. Does not fit any of my existing packs. The bladders seem to be less wide and taller than the camelbak or osprey bladders. This results in the system sticking out the top of my pack. This is not a huge deal, I just want it to fit and be secure although it worked fine on both packs.

Decided to try something to keep my water a little cooler. I could not find the packing foam around here which was my first choice, so i picked this up at the local liquor store ($2.19) and I think it will work fine. Scizzors and a little duct tape and I should be good to go.

I’m thinking you could probably cut down one of those grocery freezer bags to fit the bladder and duct tape the seams back together. Kind of a redneck fix, but it would provide light insulation!

This is what i was going to suggest as a start. If it doesn’t work the way you want, you could always buy something like this
