I am a little late in the discussion. I am a bit confused as to why your weight of 200 lbs is an issue. I used to feel the same way about wheels, my weight has been up around 250 for years. I ran Rhyno lItes fro years w/out a problem, heavy but very strong, w/ XT Hubs. Never had problem with them. I then took the plunge in going with a light pair of wheels, I went with a set of carbon fiber wheels. They can as much of, if not more of a beating than the Rhyno Lites did. My point being don’t be afraid of going lighter because of your weight.
WHEELS WHEELS WHEELS!!! My 26 inch geared has Easton Haven Carbon, my 29er SS has EDGE Composites with Chris King hubs.
My hands used to fall asleep/go numb from time to time. I switched from regular/straight bars to a loop style handlebar and the numbness has gone away. The bars I use are from Jeff Jones. jonesbikes.com I use Lizard Skins Lock ON grips.
I went tubeless with my new set of wheels and I love it , the lower tire pressure is great even with my size, 6’3" and 240 lbs. I had no problem getting my tires to seal using my Blackburn Mammoth mini pump with Stan’s sealant. I carry a spare tube just in case I need it on the trail. I cannot imagine going back to tubes on a regular basis.
