Since the pandemic I sold wheels, forks and my giant Reign Advance, which had been on sale and not ridden, except for maintenance, since October 2016. The Pivot Mach 5.5 also generated a ton of interest, but I have decided not to sell.
All sales were in person and were cash transactions. All money was laundered and dried.

They are a French company. Would of thought you would get better service being in France.
If you really want to enjoy your riding invest in a good bike that fits you properly and matches your type of riding.
Trek bikes are over priced, lower end components at high retail cost. I have had two, but will not buy another that has the fork and down tube clashing and the lack of value compared to say Giant.
That said, my 26” Trek Remedy 8 was brilliant as I exchanged the wheels and cheap components for better equipment.
Bike depot uk. Discount plus tax(20%).
September 3, 2017 at 12:36 in reply to: Cube Stereo 140 hpa pro 2015 swap?? more travel wanted. #224527Hi,
I have a 2016 Cube Stereo 160 SL C:62. Simply put; it is brilliant…!
My last three bike in order of preference are; Scott Genius 720 (2014), Trek Remedy 8 (2012) and Giant Reign Advanced 1 (2016). The Cube is the best bike for me to date.
Regards.
Aron, I spent years fighting my bike into the trunk of my various cars except one hatchback I had. I do not like hitches since the bikes can, and do, get lifted regardless of the locking device. Out of sight out of mind… We bought the minivan new in 2003. Since 2013 its been used for the dog and biking. It is so much better than a car and fuel efficient with a single seat and the rear bench seat removed and so much room inside. Of course, this is fine so long as your macho image can handle a football mum vehicle (round ball, you know real football, rugby league with pads…).
Get a mini van and put your bike inside. You cannot beat them for biking practicality.
I ran 32t Oval chain ring on a 10-42 Sram cassette and I found it slightly easier than the round version. Having 1×11 puts more stress on the knees and legs in general since you do not have the same gear ratio as 2×11 e.g. 26/36T chain ring on a 10-42 cassette. I just changed to this set up and I climb faster and don’t spin out on the down hills so quickly.
WD-40. It’s cheap and cleans as well.
South Downs Way. 100-miles Winchester to Eastbourne or 80-miles Peters field to Eastbourne, same route. Day rides or stage cross country run.
<p style=”text-align: left;”>”Do you really need that rain jacket? Answer – yes, emphatically for where I ride. Snow in August. Wouldn’t believe it if I didn’t see it…</p>
<p style=”text-align: left;”>Oh, and do not believe all bike reviews. I have had two, maybe three, costly mistakes based on positive reviews.</p>Hi,
I have the same cranks. They have a lot of parts compared to Shimano. My Cinch cranks made all sorts of noise even after cleaning and retorquing of the various connecting parts. They would be quite-ish for a ride or two and then play up again. I check race face and the maintenance videos but no long term improvement. So I changed to Shimano XT cranks and BB. Blisters fully quite.
If you are getting the latest Giant Reign it’s geometry – head angle, seat angle, reach and 42-mm fork offset – can make climbing a chore. I have Reign 1×11. I tried this for three months and found it tiring, simply put, insufficient gears. I changed to 2×11 and found the climbs much easier. In fact, I used to pass lots of people struggling or resting with 1×11 set ups.
That said, you might be super, super fit and it not bother you. My other bike is 1×11 and it is much easier on the climbs due to more suitable geometry for me.
Tubeless is the way to go.
Hi Chris,
<span lang=”EN-US” style=”margin: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: ‘Georgia’,’serif’;”>The best vehicle is a minivan. I inherited our 2003 Windstar from my wife for my bike and the dog when she got her new vehicle in 2013. We have owned it since new so we know how it’s been treated.</span>
<span lang=”EN-US” style=”margin: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: ‘Georgia’,’serif’;”>Why a minivan…? </span>
<span lang=”EN-US” style=”margin: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: ‘Georgia’,’serif’;”>The bike fits inside with no hassle. Bungee tie the bike to one Captains chair to stop it moving in transit. I have enough room for three assembled bikes, gear and an easy place to change. The tail gate works as a rain shelter after a ride and a place for a social drink. The windows are dark, so going to the bar after a ride is not a problem as no one can see in. With the rear bench seat and one Captains seat removed the gas consumption is pretty low; a lot of weight in them seats.</span>
<span lang=”EN-US” style=”margin: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: ‘Georgia’,’serif’;”>My friend has nice truck, but you can’t make it dirty, so changing outside when it’s pissing down sucks. Securing the bikes when we go to the bar is a nervous affair, since the bike could be stolen regardless of his fancy lock.</span>
<span lang=”EN-US” style=”margin: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: ‘Georgia’,’serif’;”>Yep, the minivan rocks…so long as you don’t mind the smiles and murmured jokes…</span>
Regards.
Hi,
Check this link out -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ew03wbHOHS0. I agree with everything he speaks about. 1×11 is over rated and under-geared compared to 2×11.
January 18, 2017 at 21:49 in reply to: What is the most comfortable MTB saddle you've found? #205405I have yet to find one…
I think have seven different saddles ranging from $10 to $175. The ten dollar bargain special is the most comfortable, although “comfortable” is a stretch. The latest saddle is a WTB Volt Pro which is okay, but not comfy enough for 30-km plus rides.
1992 GT Richter. It had a “u” brake on the chain stays. Collected mud like a magnet. The Rock Shop Mag 30 forks flexed like a fishing rod. Thank God it got stolen.
Hi,
In Oct I got the deal of the century from Cycle Gear in the UK. Basically the bike had 45% off the listed price (25% discount and 20% tax). It arrived in six days to Calgary, Alberta . The make was a Cube Stereo SL 160 c:62. They have aluminum bikes at a great price. Do not buy from Chain Reaction, as their bike prices are more expensive. You can capitalise whilst pound sterling is low due to Brexit.
