I used the NX cassette on my 1×12 conversion. You will have to give up the 9 tooth on the top end, but wasn’t that big of a deal for me. The rest of it was GX. YMMV
I would be interested in “How to get the most out of my trainer” during the long winter lay over. Most of the articles I’ve read pertain to roadies.
Went for a ride with a co worker at Carpenters Loop. Most of the trail system was covered with snow drifts to deep to ride, but the 3 miles we did get to ride was great. I can’t believe how well my 2.6 Maxxis tires did. Looks like a storm is moving in, just in time to ruin the weekend. Come on SPRING!
As a Scout years ago (way too many), always be prepared.
Unleashed dogs and dog crap in the middle of the trail. This is a designated MTB trail, lots of other places for hikers around here. GRRR
Back in 2006, when I first started, I took a co worker out on our local trail. As we were just yards away from the end of our ride, I started a tight left hand turn a little fast as there was 2 washes to go thru. The first one ok, the second one catapulted me right over the bars, landing the Superman position hands first. A lot of scrapes and blood running down my leg, I got up, dusted myself off and gathered my bruised ego. Wife asked me when I got home, if I enjoyed myself with that sh!t eatin grid on her face! GRRRRR
The next day my left hand would hardly hold my cup of coffee. Off to the hospital for X rays.
4 months later, surgery ( Scapholunate dissociation) and 4 pins. Doc told me the next time my wrist would be froze straight out. Now I’m wearing a reinforced wrist brace when I ride.
I usually ride 2 times during the week after work and once on the weekends when time permits. Weekends around 12-13 miles, 10 on my favorite trail after work.
Today was cut way short due to the approaching thunderstorm and lightning. I knew I should have started earlier! Ugh!
Colorado weather, go figure!
