I have a seperate rider for all my bikes with my homeowner’s insurance policy. Only costs an extra hundred or so a year (and that covers 8 bikes).
Haha Christmas spam! ^^^
…and crickets…..
No one has replied, so I will.
That’s a horrible idea. Horrible. Your bike wasn’t designed to jump from 100mm to 160mm. Simply no way to make it happen on that frame and still have a reasonably functional bike. And to mullet your bike, putting 27.5 on the rear might work. On the front?? Another horrible idea. And if I may ask, why would you want a 160mm fork on an XC bike to begin with? To accomplish exactly what?
<p style=”text-align: left;”>New = warantee. You should not have to “fix” something you just paid for. IMO.</p>
Do you see the blue and red dials?
Maybe not. I’ve seen Deore’s – genuine – with no logo on the disc.
And, lose the kickstand.
Thank me later.
Crickets…..
Tried to sign up, kept freezing at the last “question”.
It’s just a Shopify website, with no contact info other than an email addy. No physical address, phone number, nada. And not very good prices in their ‘store’. I’d stay far away.
Never knew back warmers were a thing.
Get a proper bike fitting. Ask at your local bike shop their suggestion for a bike fitter. Money well-spent, and I bet you’ll notice an immediate difference. Cycling shouldn’t involve pain…unless you crash a lot.
You should be fine on that bike. The frame is good sized, plus the Fox dropper will help you dial things in. Have fun!!
Check out Cutler Park Reservation in Needham. Good trails, and a nice pump track as well.
Since you’re near the harbor, Boston Aquarium is awesome. Lots of cool spots in Cambridge. And after your ride, grab pizza and sightsee for a few hours at Faneuil Hall.
Remove and replace the Schrader valve with a new one. The valve core. Should cost about a nickle.
Check into either Brevard, NC area (E coast) or the Sedona, AZ area (West). They’re both pretty awesome.
I’ve no experience with the Trek hubs, but there’s nothing sweeter than the loud buzz of Hope hubs in the early morning mist 🙂
If you really like the bike (basically a Santa Cruz 5010 with a different tune/paint job) but need more than 130 rear and 140mm front, why not replace the fork and shock for a lot less coin than a new bike? The ‘shock tunnel’ on your bike allows you to use about any shock out there. Get a fork with the travel you want. Your bike has a flip chip, adjust things to your liking. My 2 cents, anyway. Which is worth…about 2 cents.
Excellent vid, plenty of bike porn shots! Great bike…and great mechanic, too!
You’ll need a lockring tool and a chainwhip. Really good instructions here —> https://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/cassette-removal-and-installation
Maybe call Peter at Elevated Trail Design. I’d bet he’d at least steer you in a good direction
