I rode the neighborhood trails in the woods and dodged mud puddles on Friday.  They are good for distance rides.  Came out with almost 11 miles.   Saturday morning was alittle better since I hit a popular trail- Fountainhead trail in Virginia while it was still frozen.  Several other riders did the same and braved the cold.

Since you have two bikes already, you could look for another bike that fits your list/ wants/ and budget. Run a Google search for reviews on your choices to  find the pros and cons.

I had two Treks and can say “had” since both bikes were not durable.  I switched to Salsa for a back up and made it my primary.  I just bought my second Salsa; I wanted a fattie after riding my fatbike for a year and a half and the bike is built to last. If you have patience to wait, order your first choice.  I prefer Salsa.

I had a Trek Fuel Ex 8 29″ wheels bike; I said HAD.  It broke too often , so I bought a fatbike for a back up and ended up loving the fatbike more. I sold the Trek and the fatbike is a tank and hasn’t broke. I have only needed adjustments that are free where I bought the bike. No down times with the bike in the shop for a week. That was common with the Trek.

I would go with the Scott.

I had an Trek Fuel Ex8.  I  bought a Salsa fatbike as a back up since the Trek kept breaking.  I rode it weekly on singletrack trails. I am 6’2″ and 240. I don’t know if my size contributed to the Trek’s constant break downs. I ended up selling the bike and ride the Salsa exclusively now.  My input.
