Where have you ridden so far if anywhere?

You live a good distance from Jefferson County trails, I don’t know what’s up in Fort Collins, but Jefferson County trails on the front range are very popular.

    Hello everyone,

I’m new here but a long time rider. I live in Aberdeen NC, ( hour south of Raleigh) My current ride is a Trek fuel 70. I’m also a roadie. My road ride is a Trek 2300 composite. I’m looking for some trails around Moore Co. I’m getting bored with the Greenway trails in Southern Pines.

PS. I am working on posting the Greenway trails on here.

I’d suggest emailing (this site email) Trek7k and convene with him about your wonders & ideas. He can explain to you how adding a trail is done, and what to include, & so on.

Anyone going to be at keystone anytime soon? I plan on hitting it this weekend so if you someone on a hot pink Intense DH rig its me…say hello.;)

    joe

How much does your bike weigh? I’m not a DH’er but I do DH on my XC bike, and have no problem with it. I have no experience doing big drops, are you good at those?

Just want to remind everyone that file uploads have been disabled temporarily while we move to a new web server as announced in our email newsletter and on the blog over the past couple weeks. We hope to have the new server up and running early this week after we complete testing.

If you have any photos or GPS data you would like to post to the site in the meantime, please feel free to email your files to us at [email protected]. Thanks for your patience.

I didn’t know most of what you’re indicating here. I didn’t get the newsletter, is that emailed personally to your email you used to sign up with, or just in the malbox for the site and user account?

I apologize for not knowing this information, but at the same time the last time I tried to upload photos was back in March and could not. You, Trek have operated the site flawlessly without any disruptions to user functionality, and am addicted to this state of perfection. I hope once these changes are made you can return us to this excellence.

Do you have any suggestions on where I can put photos immediately, until the modifications and relocation of our site is done? I have over 20 photos, and emailing all those will be a pain in the arse.

in reply to: Suggestions for Grand Lake to Idaho Springs #71890
    Hi –

We’ll be coming from Pittsburgh in July and looking for tips for easier trails anywhere between Idaho Springs and Grand Lake (Winter Park, Eldora, etc.)

We’re late 40’s, will have two 16 year old girls, and we’re novices, though we do ride around. Interested in either mountain bike trails or paved trails.

I know this forum would have more expert riders, but thought someone might have an idea. Thanks

Don’t fear what is rated as an advanced trail, just be prepared to do a little hike-a-biking. Most advanced trails are technical sections connected by long beginner novice sections of terrain. The best way to increase your skillset, or the quickest way, is to try (but anticipate hike-a-biking) advanced trails. Ride what you can and hike-a-bike what you can’t. I don’t drive so I don’t know that section of the state so I can’t recommend any. Good luck and have fun!

    That sucks, man!

I have a Diamondback Response that’s still back in Iraq, but that won’t make it back here until after the rest of my unit comes back, ie- Sept.-Nov.

However, I will recommend that you look for a Response of your own. Surprisingly, it’s a pretty good frame, a massive improvement over the old Walmart DBs. The top-end Response comes with disc brakes, and Alivio drivetrain, Truvativ crankset & BB, an RST Gila fork, and halfway decent wheels. I think they run about $400.

If you find one, swap out the Shimano drivetrain with a SRAM X-7 setup, replace the RST fork with a RockShox Judy or Manitou Black fork, and change the disc brakes to an Avid BB7 outfit. Everything else is fine for just getting you back out on the trail.

I was planning on doing just the same with my Response, and keeping it as a loaner bike/commuter.

Hey thanks for the suggestion. I’ll see what I can find.

I’m game but my bike was stolen. Anyone know of any places that donate bikes (yeah right)?

I have a bike now, it is a MTB, but it’s old, and worn, and I can throw down pretty good on the trails, so I’m hesitant to use this one. It’s my urban transportation.

If any of you guys know of anyone with an extra bike preferably with disc-brakes, let me know. I probably can scrape together some money from my parents, seeing how I’m not working right now.

Thanks though. BTW, the bike I had stolen is in some of my pictures, a Raleigh M80, XT components (I added), and Maxxis tires.

    Thanks,,

On another note has anyone tried the new north shore park In the springs???

    I don’t drive so I can’t get to these.
