  • Depends on what day I get out of Destin, If I can get home Thursday I don’t think it will be a problem. Definitely going to need the exercise. Eating on the road is baaaad for me.

Had a blast man! Yeah, just call me Code ‘What stairs?’ Rage 😃 You missed the curb huck to manual. Hahaha, didn’t mean to do it, never done it before, just let the bike do it’s thing and go along for a ride. Causeway was a blast, pretty cool drawing a crowd. And the drops were just awesome! I am going to have to figure out how to explain the new Opie to SWMBO, minor detail….

Heh, I was so stoked a cop pulled up behind me at the drive through. Bought him dinner. (Man, Cops eat CHEAP!)

Nor sure if I can roll this weekend. Maybe Sat Evening. Depends on how much trouble I get into at the bike shop…. 😃.

If I wasnt so tired I’d be bouncing off the walls brother. 😼

I didn’t know Frt Pierce was open again. Good news.

If you guys don’t feel like waiting on my butt just give me a shout. I’ll give you a call when I leave the plant and try to meet up with yall. I can get stuck at the plant after hours on a moments notice so I’ll let you know if it is looking that way.

I wasn’t trying to come off condescending, and I don’t think you took it that way either but just in case ;) I just remember hating those brakes with a passion. I have no doubts you maintain your equipment well.

I love to golf too, I have more fun shootin the shiz versus playing well but playing well makes it a bit better. I kind of look at mtb’ing as paying all your green fees for the next 2 years in one shot 😀

If you’re going to loan the bike out, the only thing I would suggest upgrading are those TekTros. Had a pair on my Iron Horse, which is my loaner now, and I could never get those damn things to work reliably. Considering some one is riding my equipment I feel they should be able to stop safely, especially if they are green to the sport. Some Avid BB7s and you’ll be in good shape for relatively low money.

I can be out there around 5:15. I dont get out of work till 5:00 and I am on John Rodes by Eau Gallie.

Think we should put Snow Hill on the list of day trips too ;)

CP, I’m still down for Wed this week. Looks like I will be out of town next week. After that I think I will have to move it to Thursdays. Have classes Monday/Wednesday now. I day trip to DTO one weekend doesnt sound bad at all. Give me a couple weeks though, just pulled a honey pass for Santos, don’t want to push my luck.

Had a great stroll through Melbourne today CP. I am definitely down for some GFT Sunday if ya’ll go. You know how to get a hold of me.

BTW, I got the hifi to fit in the front seat of the El Co. Good thing to know 😀

Hey, the important thing is it gets you on the trails. Not a bad investment to see if you like the sport.

Those Next FS bikes are HEAVY, I bought one as a hunting bike several years ago. Got into trail riding and was constantly fixing the thing. Start stashing some duckets away for your next bike and keep an eye on craigs list. If you see anything interesting post it up here, these guys love to talk bikes 😀.

May just stroll over there for an hour or two Sunday.

    ChilliPepper!

I’ve always taken Briar Creek to the scrub sanctuary. Ho Chi Man is right off of Port Malabar Road East of the bridge. Hope you like sand and roots.

I am down for an urban ride, Friday or Saturday evening would be good for me. Just give me a shout.

Dunno about that one. But I did find the transmitter for my wireless BC1106 Sigma sitting in the back of the SUV yesterday. The rubber o-ring it used snapped off too. Im using tie wraps next time….

P.S. I do use an inhaler prior to every ride but I can’t imagine that this would be the cause?

Most anti-asthma drugs use a bronchial dilator and expectorant combo. This could be reason for the chest congestion needing to be expressed. Before your ride you may want to take something like mucinex to get most of your chest congestion out before your ride, or at least break it up so it comes out quicker. I wouldn’t make a religious practice though.

Benadryl can make you drowsy. If it is only after your ride I would take a banadryl or 2 as I pack up to leave. Those symptoms could very well be allergies.

I would also like to say that I am no doctor nor have I had any medical training. I would advise you to go see your doctor if this really concerns you.

Is this something that has just started or always have been a problem? I know when I have some chest or sinus congestion all that stuff wants to drain/evacuate during the beginning of my rides.

I just got done looking at some of the output from the gopro. Video is GREAT! Stills are really impressive too! Totally not what I was expecting. The thing is super tiny too. I set it up to take a picture every 2 seconds and just rode it looks great. I’ll post some trail pics up later and post a link. There is a video I spliced together the other day from it that turned out pretty good. My editing needs work and the content isn’t anything super exciting… Just a chump trying to learn how to jump ;)

Ray the key to success is to go out and buy a really expensive bike like the Ibis Mojo (spend at least $5k). That way when you see it in your garage you’ll feel guilty not riding it and it’ll force you to ride more.

    😆

Sounds like those words of wisdom comes from experience! And, aint that the truth… I am the kind of person if I stop doing something for a little while I have a hard time getting back into a regular schedule again. I just think of the price tag on my Gary Fisher and have no problems getting motivated any more ;)

went over the bars this morning on some wicked terrain….got that out of the way..

Congrats man! The thing about going over the bars is you realize it ain’t that bad. You’ve got plenty of air miles to earn still. ;)

I grabbed some Crank Bros mallet C for 60 bucks. Feel like a big platform, lots of grip and has the egg beater clipless system. So if I really wanted to I can toss some flats or my clipless shoes on and hit the trail.

I have a gopro hero wide 5mp coming in the mail tomorrow. Does both video and stills. I have an old EOS 3 SLR but it’s all film. If I upgraded to a DSLR I would still be reluctant to take it out, its not so much the camera I am worried about but the GLASS! A good wide angle lens will cost more than the camera. I would suggest getting a nice point and shoot camera with the biggest aperture lens that you can afford. If you are looking to do action shots, you want something with less shutter lag and fast auto focus.

Then again, get what ever you can get your hands on. Nice cameras do not make good photogs ;) click away!
