Ride the Don Valley trails and wondering how you can give back?

We’ve got the TORBA AGM, a trail maintenance day, and rubbish clean up day all coming up soon in the Don Valley. If you don’t know who TORBA is, you can learn more about us and the advocacy we do for mountain bikers in Toronto here:

TORBA AGM

Wednesday, June 2, 7pm to 9pm
Whistlers Grille, 995 Broadview Ave (Cnr Broadview Ave and Pottery Rd)

If you want to contribute ideas, be involved, or have a beer with us, feel free to come along. This meeting is open to everyone and new people are more than welcome.

Main agenda items:

1. Elect board and executive
2. Plan for next 12 months of activity
1. Don Valley Bike Park: Plans are completed and funds are floating about – now we just need to organise our community to motivate Councilors and the City
2. Lobbying efforts to further recognise and enhance Don Valley trails
3. Other items and ideas from participants

Trail Maintenance Days

Saturday, June 12 10am to 4pm
Meet at the Loblaws Redway Rd trail head.

These events are run in conjunction with the City of Toronto (CoT) and are limited to 15 people, so send us an email and let us know if you can make it (alastair.patterson[at]toronto-offroad.org ). We need to supply our own lunch and water, and off course dress appropriately. For our first trail maintenance day we will be repairing the area half way along the ‘Advanced’ trail that keeps slipping.

Due to CoT funding cut backs, we are only preforming trail maintenance this year. This ongoing work is important to maintain our trails, and continue to develop our relationship with the CoT.

Don Valley Clean-Up Day

Sun June 13, 10am – 1:30pm

We will again be helping the UofT Mountain Bike Team remove garbage from the Don Valley. Come along and help us clean up the trails we all use!

Congratulations to Graham, our newest board member.

We also had 3 non-board members stand up to help out Graham with the new communications sub-committee that he will be leading.
