I just got a Trek Marlin 7 and love it. I’m 5"7′ and it has a 17.5" frame. Fits me well. But, my only issue is the seat. It is just a tad bit too high even at the lowest it’ll go. A bolt in the frame stops the seat from going any lower. Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this?

Try cutting off the seatpost or if your not comfortable doing so, purchase a shorter one. Did you buy it from a bike shop?? They should be able to assist you in the proper seat height adjustment.

I agree with rsb201 cutting it a little is your best option.

As others have mentioned cut the post down. If you have a pipe cutter the job becomes a snap and you end up with a nice straight cut.
