So I have found a very good deal on a set of brand new Fox FiT RL forks, 140mm travel, 15mm QR, 1 1/8" steerer. Does anyone know if these would raise any problems trying to fit to my Trek 6500 with the Axels I want to junk? Will the 140 mm travel upset the geometry at all?
Help gladly received and much appreciated!

I think I just figured it out myself… The different axle sizes are a new thing for me, everything was 9mm I guess when I was riding, and I now realize that we have a bit more choice now! I guess if I was to get these forks, I would need to change my front wheel to accommodate the 15mm QR… am I right?

…and I sprung for a set of Fox RL 32 120 mm, 9 mm QR 2011 forks. Got a very good price, so I figured I will give these a shot. The frame is a good one, and if I want to upgrade it, I will have a good set of forks to switch over too…

Yeah, the 120mm Fox is a better fit for that frame.

…and I have been out to the 50 Year trail here in Tucson to test the Fox setup… I have 3 words only: Oh…My…Word! What a difference. I cannot believe how the technology has advanced since my ‘glory’ days! I am truly and completely bitten once more, this is a whole new sport… Might have to go ‘full squish’ soon tho…

The extra cushion for the pushin’ has made me enjoy riding more than ever. Glad you’re so stoked!
