I am not exactly sure where in the forum to put this information but I think theis will be a good spot. I found out about this program and thought I would pass on the information to all of you here. This is a program to upgrade your existing Suntour fork at an extreme discount. So anyone looking to step up to the next level of performance then this is the deal for you. I know this is what I am going to do when the time to replace the Suntour XCM on my Trek Marlin comes up!

Hope this helps some people out.

SR Suntour Customer Loyalty Upgrade Program Guidelines

SR Suntour North America is excited to launch a new program geared towards its North American customers. The intention of this program will allow the end user to upgrade his/her own suspension fork to something that will align better with their riding style and overall expectations than their current suspension fork.
To participate in this program consumers are encouraged to visit the shop in which they purchased the bicycle from to make sure that the necessary upgrades make sense and that the appropriate fork is ordered to fit the bicycle and its intended use. Dealers should contact SR Suntour North America for product availability and ordering.
For consumers that do not have the ability to work through a local dealer they are welcome to contact us directly to participate in the program and discuss fitment, pricing and product availability.
To be eligible and qualify for the Customer Loyalty Upgrade Program one must provide the following:
      • Serial number of current SR Suntour fork
      • Receipt of existing fork and or bicycle in which the fork came stock
      • Agreement that the fork will not be resold to a 3rd party

I’m not sure it quite works like that! 😆

Never had too much love for any RST forks, as they are all beginners of the beginner forks, and I do believe they are all elastomer forks.

    • #116624

Well the RST is Suntour’s lowes end fork that they offer and is made to be starter throw away fork. It is a non-serviceable fork after all.

Yeah, but isn’t all Suntour forks elastomer forks?

Nope not at all. All of the forks offered through this deal are air/oil dampened forks. most of them have 15mm axles and some offer remote lock outs. Suntour has a vast line up of forks. Heck the low end XCM that came on my Trek Marlin is a coil fork that is serviceable. But when that time comes I am going to take advantage of this program and get the Epicon fork. That is about a $650 fork for $275!

SR has an image problem – that’s why they start this program. The majority of their products are low end parts buid in at entry level bikes. I don’t know much, about their better forks, but Julie Bressert won a goldmedal at London with a SR Suntour Fork.
My Marlin came with a RS Dart 2 (which is just bad low end stuff too) , that was replaced after one season with a Recon

Last I heard the legend himself Brett Tippie was riding Suntour forks, so they can’t all be that bad.

If someone gave me money plus free product I’d use there products as well, that’s just me. I don’t think Tippie needs to worry about money or free product so the upper end of there fork line must be pretty descent!!
As already mentioned Suntour is known for cheap beginner forks, and they have a long up hill battle to shake that monkey off their back..

And it never hurts to benefit from someone else’s PR problem!

The only reason they are known as a cheap fork company is because they are the largest manufacturer of suspension forks for bikes. So when the major companies need to buy hundreds of thousands of forks for their entry level bikes that who they call. And when it comes to their higher end bikes they need to go with one of the name that a synonymous with quality so the consumer is happy. If most of the consumer base thinks a certain brand is low end, then they are not going to buy a 3,000+ dollar bike with that companies components on it.

The fork I am looking from Suntour through this program is 100 or 120mm travel has progressive air chamber, lock out / low speed compression adjust, rebound adjust, hollow crown and magnesium lower for weight savings, 15mm QLOC axle with a titanium axle optional, and weighs in at 1730g.

Those specs are right inline with forks from any of the more reputable manufactures.

Yeah I’ve checked out some of their stuff at expos before. While I haven’t ridden any of their high-end components, they do look good.
