After a short lasting [lame] viral campaign via social media tricking people into believing that someone (Bigfoot) stole their prototype bike, they finally released the details and photos of the new Enduro 29er. Bikemag got to ride the S-Works version:

The S-Works build looks to be pretty epic and pricey. Carbon frame, XX1 drivetrain, Cane Creek DB Air, and carbon Roval Control wheels. This thing is a rich fanboy’s dream! I would bet the price tag is close to 10k 😆

Surprised no one else has commented on this thread… I’ve been thinking about this bike all day!
Seriously, pretty sure I have a new dream machine! The Enduro has always been one of my favorite bikes, but the only thing that has kept me from lusting after it is the lack of 29" wheels. (Check out my test-ride review of the Enduro here: http://www.gregridestrails.com/2011/03/ … -rule.html )
Now, though, with 29" wheels… man, a guy can dream, right? 😃
The Yeti SB-95 is a great bike too… right now, if I could choose any bike in the world to get for free, it would be down to these two bikes (a Santa Cruz Tallboy LT might be in there too, but I’ve never ridden one).

I think the price has scared everyone away. Everyone can dream including me!

haha definitely true in case of the S-Works version! I read in one of the articles somewhere that there will be 3 versions on release. Surely the other 2 versions will be more realistically priced.

There will be more affordable builds available. Right now, the only 29er version of the Enduro listed on Specialized’s website only costs $3,500 : http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bikes/ … ro-comp-29

Finally saw this today. As a Enduro rider and a non 29er enthusiast I am seriously looking into this bike. Nothing else 29er wise has caught my eye. But when the Enduro came out I was puzzled and confused. Why???? Why Specialized would you stoop this low? Looking into it further as a Enduro fan I am getting all wet inside thinking about going thru with a 29er. I was in Tahoe and I would have never thought it was necessary, but now in Texas I see the benefits. All the guys I decide to race against in Cat 3 and beat with my Enduro 26er will be surprised when I decide to roll up with a 29er AM bike to beat all their 29ers with!!
