Is possible to go mountain biking in south lake tahoe for spring break? I’m planning on going mid March, early April

      Thanks

      Thomas

Not unlikely. Tahoe is snowed in at that time of year, even in a low snow year. This is an El Nino year which is a high snow year. You’re going to have to drive down in elevation quite a bit to find dry land in March or early April.

Sorry about the poor communication. I actually meant to say “not likely” as in No.

Rent a Fat Bike and you can ride.

Ok thanks, I have been looking into the San Francisco bay area. Any trail suggestions?

From the looks of it, Tahoe is going to have snow this year.  If you made the trip over the last couple years, you would have been fine!

Some trails along the way to the Bay Area that are worth checking out:

Jenkinson Lake Loop (Sly Park) http://www.singletracks.com/bike-trails/jenkinson-lake-loop.html

      Salmon Falls http://www.singletracks.com/bike-trails/salmon-falls.html

      Clementine Loop: http://www.singletracks.com/bike-trails/clementine-loop.html

Skyline Park (used to be a World Cup course!) http://www.singletracks.com/bike-trails/napa-skyline-park.html

      China Camp: http://www.singletracks.com/bike-trails/china-camp.html

      Camp Tamarancho: http://www.singletracks.com/bike-trails/china-camp.html

These are just a few of the options.  You can find tons of trails that are worth riding on the drive from Tahoe to San Francisco!
