Hello all,
I’m pretty new to the mountain biking scene so bear with me. In fact I just picked up my bike today (specialized enduro comp) and was wondering if it was a bad idea to take it on some trails here in Michigan with about an inch or two of snow. I would love your input as well as any other tips for beginners. -

Riding a mountain bike in an inch or two of snow isn’t necessarily a bad idea. Heck, if there’s so much as a dusting of snow here in Georgia it seems like everyone wants to get out and ride in it for the sheer novelty of the experience!
You’ll definitely lose some control even in an inch or two of snow so you won’t be able to ride as fast as usual. The other issue is that the trail can actually be wet/muddy underneath the snow if the snow is acting as an insulator. Don’t ride muddy trails as it’s bad for the trails and your bike.
