Since my last race XC was in October, I have been bummed that I did not have another race lined up until Spring. I had forgoten about the Snake Creek Gap TT. As of yesterday, I decided to do the "Snake". After reading and watching videos, it looks intense, which makes it even better.

I was wondering if anybody out there is thinking about it or training for it? If so, I was looking to see anybody wanted do some pre-rides on the course in Nov. or Dec. There is an official pre-ride Dec. 8th. I think I need more than one shot at riding it after seeing & hearing about the rock sections.

Fire back if your interested or have advise about the course. The best comparison I have is Mulberry Gap. I ride Bear Creek , P1, P2, & P3 once a month or so.

      Break-out the cold weather gear!

Right on, and have fun man! But be warned: the Snake is WAY tougher than anything in Ellijay!

I was wanting to ride the Snake this year, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. I may be able to make the March race, but if I do, I don’t think I’ll have time to train for it (and besides, there’s no way to train for the Snake here in Augusta), but I figure that I can suffer for 17 miles if I have to 😃

That is what I heard and have viewed online. Is it the climbing or the technical stuff (rock) that makes it so tuff? I will do a few pre-rides to get familiar with.

      Looking forward to the challenge!

IMO, the technical stuff is what is really unique for GA. If you live up here in the NGA mountains, there are plenty of climbs this long, but unless you ride Pisgah a lot (or the Snake itself), there aren’t many trails this technical around.

That said, the rocks are way awesome and way fun! Tough, but fun!

I have been riding the south loop a lot to get ready for this series. Not as hard but good practice.

      Reminder:

Snake Creek Gap TT, (Dalton, GA) Pre-Ride on December 8th.

      Who is in????

Despite the fact that I did the Pre-ride last Saturday for the "Snake", I just signed up. Anybody else doing it?

      Praying the warm weather continues!
