We’re taking a group of 8 riders from Telluride to Gateway Colorado via the San Juan Huts this coming September. We are looking for a reasonable way to get shuttled from Gateway to Telluride, (along with our bikes) at the start of the ride (August 28th). Local companies are asking $650 to shuttle us on this two hour trip! I am wondering if their might be an individual with the right equipment (trailer, truck or rack of some kind ) who would be interested in making this trip happen at a more affordable cost? Any better ideas out there?

When I did the San Juan trip we used the Porcupine Shuttle service based out of Moab. They were really accommodating with our weird logistics (we needed to get from Moab to Durango at the end of the trip but our bike boxes were at Durango Mountain resort.) There were just two of us and they made it happen for a reasonable price. Might want to check with Bryan @ Porcupine to see what he can do…

Hello Dan,
I know this is old information, and I am sorry that I didn’t catch this one. This is really intended for future users of this forum. However, we usually recommend a service based in Telluride for this specific shuttle due to it being a 2 hour drive from Telluride each way. For us based in Moab it is much more than that (approx. a 7/8 hour trip). I hope everything worked out for your group and you all had a great trip.
