I am looking to replace my mechanical disk calipers on my NORCO CX bike. The brakes I currently have on are Hayes CX comp and I need an upgrade bad as they are just not happening. Best reviews for mechanical disk brakes for a drop bar bike are the Shimano brcx77 or the Avid bb7 series. Would my Hayes rotors be compatible with the Shimano Brakes? On my mountain bike I upgraded to Shimano XT’s and am using Avid Clean Sweep rotors and it works just fine. Are all brakes and rotors compatible? Thanks for any help. Sorry if this is a dumb question.

I’m pretty sure it should work. Like you, I know shimano will work with avid rotors. As long as you have the right caliper mounts, should work. I have gotten away with using avid adapters on shimano with a little shimming. The bb7 are quality mech brakes. Good luck
