Hi guys and gals,
I’m looking for best practices (stretches, devices, supplements, etc) to help recovery and keep legs loose. More specifically hamstrings and lower back. Thanks for the help! Btw I ride 2-3 times a week ranging from 18-35 miles each.

One supplement I like, and is often overlooked, is CoQ10, which is generally sold for cardiovascular health. It improves blood flow and I’ve notice leg cramping while using it.

When I tore my hammy and hurt my back I was told to never touch my toes while standing. The exercises I was given by my therapist were to sit with one leg bent and the foot inside opposite knee and slowly touch the extended toe with one hand then the other. Then of course, switch legs. Here is a pic,, not me, I cannot stretch near that far, and I don’t look any where near that good.
Then put both legs straight and slowly stretch as far as you can with no pain.
Then for lower back, do this on both sides.

Great stuff Alvin. I will definitely remove the “bend over and touch your toes” move. I have done the stretches you recommended but not to the extent I probably should. But knowing now that bending like that is bad I will no longer so that. Thanks.

Has anyone tried any of the leg/muscle rollers or creams on the market? Just wondering if they are worth the money, seeing that they seem like over priced rolling pins to me.
