I recently had a Minute 03 fork put on my bike. I absolutly love it but it does not fit on my roof rack. I have the yakima viper tray that has worked with all my other forks with disc brakes but the brake caliper on the new fork does not clear the wheel tray and does not fit. I was wondering if anyone has used the Yakima Boa (two piece rack w/fork mount and rear wheel holder) with a disc brake set up. I would rather not go for a tray that holds both wheels because getting the bike without the front wheel on top of my xterra is hard enough. Craming my bike into the back of car is getting old reeeeeal quick. Any suggestions???

Do what I do — modify the rack. Get out the rat-tail file (or Dremel, or whatever) and trim away what is getting in the way. It costs nothing and is highly unlikely to affect the structural integrity of the rack.

Yeah, one of my buddies did that to his rack, works just fine. Yakima racks of pretty resiliant, I’ve crashed into the garage 4 times now (all different garages) with the bikes on top and I’ve always been able to fix the trays.

I finally got around to busting out the dremel on my tray. I ground down the trouble area and now there is plenty of clearence for my caliper. Thanks for the suggestions.
