After I got all mudded up I took my bike threw the car wash and blasted it clean. Now the cassette has significant tension when I turn the cranks backward and the top of the chain will go slack as the tensioner gets pulled forward. I did clean and lube the chain after the water works, with a wax type lube.
So how do I get the it moving freely, and what should I have done? -

I the cranks spin freely with the chain off, its a chain issue. Find the tight link and loosen it by hand by applying a little side to side pressure. If the cranks are still chunky with the chain off, it’s most likely a bottom bracket issue. That will require a little more info on your bike’s components to fix.
BTW, don’t ever pressure wash your bike again. It kills them. Low pressure water only.

Actually it sounds more like a cassette issue or derailuer. I would start with pulling the rear wheel and checking to see if cassette spins free and also check the der cogs spin free. If not remove the casette and clean and lube as well as remove the cogs from the der clean the bearings relube and reassemble.
You probably pushed dirt and grime into the moving parts and they are bound up with grime.

Check the jockey wheels first, if they spin free then it’s almost certainly in the freehub. If its the freehub it will have to be dissembled, cleaned and re-lubed. Nice bike, ugly Volvo. 😆 Like me you will end up having to wash the bike at a car wash, just be very careful, NEVER pull the lever for full pressure, and avoid spraying anywhere it can force water/grit into a joint, or moving part.

😆
According to GoldenGoose’s signature, you might also try taking a hammer to it.

There’re big chances that water washed away lube from your drivetrain and/or mixed it with mud. To make sure that every component will keep working I’d disassemble it completely, clean, grease and reassemble again. I know, that’s a lot of work but how can you be sure there’s no water and it doesn’t wrecking your parts?
And remember – water is BAD!!! Better to use a set of different brushes and a garden hose. Or let it dry and brush it off. -

The drag is definetly in the cassette or DR idlers. I haven’t had a chance to get it out and look at it yet but will before any more riding.
Got the lesson. 😀 It was just sooo muddy. Thanks for help everyone. -

Thanks I think 😆 The only thing good about the mid roof is that there’s no top bunk to get in the way of my bike, otherwise it’s a tinny little truck that hates wind. 😄
