Well my trusty old Schwinn has rode it’s last trail. I have had this bike since ’99 and it has served me well over many, many, MANY miles today I took it apart to make others work. The bike holds a lot of great memories and will be missed. However with completely shot bushings and now a crack in the rear shock mount it is time to retire it. The good news however is that I was able to build up a different SS and fix up my other Schwinn with what was on Old Faithful. So out of 1 comes 2 in a way. I had a Trek frame given to me that is now up and running, and last week I blew the rear shock on my other Schwinn. Now they are both up and going.

Hard to see in this pic, but the end all

    What a BUMMER bro!! 😮

It’s sad to see the ole steeds die out like that, especially the ole Schwinns. RIP… 😢

Yeah, that’s a bummer, but hey, I think you got your money’s worth!

Sounds like your rig had a long, full life! I’m sure you’ll mourn it’s passing, but remember all the good times fondly!

Sorry to hear about your lose!!
I’m a little worried that you’re jumping into a new relationship so quickly, I hope she doesn’t take advantage of you in your vulnerable state.

    Have fun 😃

Pouring a 40 for your bike 😢 Sorry, I had to use cranberry juice since I don’t drink and it’s closer to 16 than 40 ounces, but they say it’s the thought that counts.

I’m always sad at posts like this because it makes me realize that the frames have a finite life and mine will exceed it one day.

Dang Funrover. Sorry to hear about this. I’ve probably seen 100 pictures of that bike posted on this forum. At least you are making the best of it. Kind of like bike organ donor.

Superman OTB,tuck and roll and the bike landed on its side like a pancake with a terrible sound that could only come from,,,you guessed it,,,,Dakota Ridge,,,hahahha..Actually rode it for a couple rides when one day at white ranch it started to feel like a really awkward softtail,hahaha..And yes,its weird that we are soooo bummed out over these bikes,my Marin frame is still around, just can’t seem to get rid of it.I think its because I don’t remember what I did with my 70’s mongoose frame and wish I would have never got rid of it…I did some impressive stuff on that bike if I do say so myself… 😄
