      Hello all!

I recently got into mountain biking this March and have been loving it since.

I started with a KHS Alite 1000 bike. I’ve since upgraded to 2.3″ MAXXIS Minion DHR II tires, RaceFace Chest Flats, and a WAVE short stem.

The only major trails I’ve ridden on so far are Los Penasquitos Canyon in San Diego and San Clemente Single Tracks in San Clemente.

I found a sweet trail not too far from my house in Oceanside. There’s a youtube link below from my recent ride there, please forgive any expletives.

I am looking for some riding buddies if anyone lives around the around.

Thanks for your time and I look forward to all the contributions I can make on this forum as well as any of the advise I may receive!

      Noneed2hate,

There is a group that rides every Sunday morning at PQ Canyon or around Lake Hodges.  They can be found on Meetup.com

Advanced beginner type ride led by Jeff Rucker.  They will welcome you to the group.  Have fun.

Mt. Laguna Rec Area, out east just past Alpine off I-8 is a fantastic playground when you have a chance.

I live in NH and won’t be hooking up for a ride anytime soon, but just wanted to welcome you to the forum, Noneed2hate. Welcome!

Noneed, good to be fired up about something good for you. Awesome…

If you wanna hit the OC goods, there’s always something brewing at IMTBtrails forum. It’s pretty OC centric but members hail from all over SoCal and beyond.

      Have fun, rubber down.

Is this at lake calavera? I’m in Oceanside too and looking for some riding buddies, hit me up sometime!

This is actually right next to the airport in Oceanside, I posted it as a small trail named: Tuley Canyon Single Tracks on this site.

That looks like the far S/E corner of Calavera.

For both of you, you can find local MTB groups on Meet Up dot com. There’s also a local message board called Dirt Treaders dot com and they mostly ride Calavera.

Hmmm….that green hillside in the back is what threw me off. I live 4-5 miles from there (over by Hwy 76 & College) but have never even heard of Tuley Canyon. I ride that bike path right by the airport at least once a week when I’m in my road riding mood. I didn’t see any issues in your video but are there homeless camps up in there? Any other issues to be concerned about?

It’s just a block or so across the bridge from that main bike trail that goes through Oceanside. There are some homeless camps in that area offset a good distance from the trail. They haven’t bothered me really and I generally try to go with at least 1 other person.

It’s relatively small, but there’s a lot of good stuff packed into a small area.

Thanks for posting up that trail, I’ll have to check that out.

I’ll keep that in mind, thanks!

I’ll be going for a ride in Tuley Canyon this Thursday in the afternoon if any of you would like to join me. Feel free to send me a PM.

You have to hit Noble Canyon when it cools off. Near Alpine. Best trail I know in socal.
