I’m a big fan of going for a ride on New Year’s Day every year to start things off right! My streak is unbroken for as long as I can remember, probably going back 11 or 12 years now.
Anyone have a group ride planned for Jan 1? I did this one here in Atlanta last year and it was fun; thinking about doing it again this year…

How long is the loop?

I think the loop is about 20-25 miles but most of that is on the road and if it’s anything like last year, it’s at party pace. There is some good dirt at the halfway point around Constitution Lakes.

Weather permitting, I’m absolutely going out on New Year’s Day. Fantastic idea, though it may be a little slushy. Oh well. New bike. Have to ride.

All trails in COS are completely frictionless sheets of ice with a dusting of fresh snow on them. most treacherous. The fresh dusting hides what’s underneath. Without the fresh dusting, you’d be able to see your reflection in the trail! I wouldn’t even ride them if I had a fat bike (unless it had huge spike for studs in evey knobbie!).

Yes I did, perfect conditions in the F L A; even took an epic spill on the first day of the year. But, back in the saddle again…
