Hello everyone my name is Brian. I’m from NW Arkansas. About 4 month ago I bought a biike to ride to the gym and back. When I bought it I didn’t want a road bike but didn’t think I would have much use for a mt bike either. The guys at the bike shop talked me into a mt bike. I rode it back and forth from the gym only. Two weekends ago my brother and I got to talking about our bikes. We discussed the fact that we both have mt bikes that have never seen the dirt. So we decided it was time to change that.

We went to a local park of ours where there are a few bike trails. We went about 4 miles half paved half trail. It was a blast!!! I crashed and burned once but nothing to bad. Just kinda fell over on some rocks cause I froze up. Learned a good lesson pick a line threw them and keep moving. This weekend we went back with a few friends and just did trails only. I got about 2 miles in hit a rock wrong and punctured my rear tire. No tube no nothing. So I walked it back out. The rest of the group went on and had a great time.

Today I fixed my tire and went back for more. My brother went with me. We did a little over 4 miles of solid trail. Found a little play park in the middle of the woods that we spent some time at just messing around. I wish that I had taken my bike to the trails when I first got it. I have never took up a hobby and from the first moment of it knew that I had found my passion. I’m setting here tonight at 10pm Central waiting for tomorrow evening so I can hit the trails again.

If anyone has any words of wisdom for a beginner please let me have it. Hope to get to know you all better and learn a lot more about mountain biking.
